GRACE 2014 (The Atlanta conference)

The Atlanta conference (known as GRACE 2014) is fast approaching (31 July – 4 August, 2014). Preparation is well underway. What makes this conference so special is that each region has a program to present (you will be approached soon if not already). Many are expected from around the world. As mentioned before, the change from the usual July 4 was necessitated to accommodate our European brothers and sisters.

Please mark the dates in your calendar to avoid collision with other competing events. Moreover, let us pass the word to those around us who are not in this list. God has blessings prepared for us at this gathering of His children.

Let us come and worship God as one people once again.

Travel-Airline

Airport (ATL): Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

MARTA train: the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) train is the city train that will take you around Atlanta. There are two lines of MARTA that come to the airport: the Red Line and Gold Line. You need the Gold Line to come to the conference site.

  • Gold Line: you want to take the “Gold Line” when you depart the airport.
  • Conference site: 8-miles from the termination point of the Gold Line at Doraville.
  • Domestic Terminal: from the domestic terminal baggage claim go around the corner following directions to “MARTA” to catch the MARTA Gold Line train.
  • International Terminal: from the international terminal baggage claim take the Airport train instead of exiting the terminal. Exit the Airport Train at the Domestic Terminal baggage claim and follow directions to catch the “MARTA”.
  • MARTHA URL: http://www.itsmarta.com/rail-schedules-or-route.aspx
  • Pick-up: if none of the above makes no sense don’t worry—we got you. We will have a designated person on 30July2014 and 31July2014 in the following locations to assist you.
  • Domestic Terminal both North and South Terminals baggage claim.
  • International Terminal at baggage claim.
  • Doraville train station.

Airport notes (ATL):

  • The airport has two terminals: domestic and international.
  • Domestic Terminal: has South and North terminal—it is under the same roof, just North is on the right and South is on the left side as you come up the escalator to collect your bags. Most of South terminal is Delta airlines. If you come on a non-Delta flight you will most likely be in the South terminal. But the airlines will tell you which terminal your flight is. This is important to pick your luggage. Depending on the airline career your baggage will be delivered either to the South or North Terminal.
  • International Terminal: All international flights arrive in the International Terminal if your port of entry is Atlanta. If you already landed in another US city when you land in the US, then you will be connecting from another US city so you will arrive in the Domestic Terminal. Only flight that have their first landing arrive in the International Terminal.
  • Airport train: Regardless of which flight you take you will have to take the airport train to get to your luggage.
  • Doraville: exit MARTHA at the Doraville, the last stop for the Gold Line. The conference site is 8-miles from Doraville. We will arrange transportation from Doraville to the conference site.

Please email to us about your schedule.

Children Program

Day Care Center:

In order to facilitate a rewarding experience for parents with young children at GRACE 2014 conference, the program committee has a plan to have a day care center for your child upto age 5 year-old.   The day care center will be run with capable volunteers to look after your child during the conference hours.  The location of the day care center is close to the conference center for easy accessibility to all parents.

Children Program for Grade 1 through 5:

With the leadership of Ms. Eden Misganaw, an exciting program has been planned for those children who are in Grade 1 through 5.  The program will go parallel with adult program so that parents can attend all their conference programs without any interruptions.  Ms. Misganaw has planned variety programs such as morning worship, song service, memory name game, workshops, Christian movies, drawing, coloring, puppets, outdoor activities, swimming, etc… Let your child’s activity be a concern to you at GRACE 2014.  We’re ready for them. It’ll be a rewarding experience for all family.

If you are willing to be a volunteer in this ministry, please feel free to let Lydia Yohannes know your intention by e-mailing at grace2014@att.net.

Children Program for Grade 6 through 8

Our middle school children are part of the GRACE 2014 program.  Ms. Nefsia Hassen has spent her time and energy planning variety programs for this group of future church leaders. In order to engage their minds and bodies, Ms. Hassen has prepared programs such as bible study, song presentation, game, Fresh air, tag, hula-hoop, six bottle, movies and discussion of lessons learned from the movies, outdoor activities, and much more.  From what we see being prepared, your child is not going to be board of attending GRACE 2014.

If you are willing to be a volunteer in this ministry, please feel free to let Lydia Yohannes know your intention by e-mailing at grace2014@att.net.

Program for our teens – Grade 9 through 12

GRACE 2014 is well prepared for our teens as well.  Parents with teenagers should not be worried.  Our sister Erome Daniel is taking care of the programs for our high school children.  Special speaker and song leader will be available to facilitate special programs throughout the conference with a theme “Christ Revealed to You – CRY” Our young people will learn that they have direct access to the gospel in Christ.  Don’t let your child miss such an outstanding program. All will be blessed with the messages and with all other activities.

 Special Announcement:

The program committee is looking for enthusiastic young adults to participate in different ministries at the conference. For those who are between 19 through 21 years old, there will be a workshop on Thursday, July 31, 2014 afternoon. The workshop will prepare our young adults for service to help out in variety programs during the conference. It will be a rewarding experience and a time of service to others.  The GRACE 2014 program committee urges all parents to encourage your young adults to attend the workshop.
